Average Throughput at Canadian Gasoline Stations Fell in 2020
Attempts to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, both globally and within Canada, resulted in a significant reduction in transportation in the second quarter. The impact on Canadian fuel markets was significant. Canadian average station throughput fell 32.2 percent year-over-over in the second quarter, and never recovered to 2019 levels during the remainder of the year. Overall, the average throughput at Canadian gasoline stations was down 15.8 percent in 2020 compared to the previous year.
